CIS Chambers of Commerce Discuss Industrial Cooperation in Minsk

On October 2nd, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Trade and Industry Chambers of CIS countries took place within the framework of the II International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM in Minsk. The event was held in the city of Minsk, Belarus.

Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, along with heads and representatives of trade chambers and industrial associations of CIS countries, participated in the meeting.

Participants focused on expanding economic ties and trade, developing industrial cooperation, and increasing the number of joint projects. Special attention was paid to strengthening direct business contacts between entrepreneurs from the Commonwealth countries.

Practical interaction between Uzbekistan and Belarus already includes projects involving Uzbek capital. These initiatives are being implemented in sectors such as animal husbandry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, light industry, building materials, furniture production, and pharmaceuticals.

In the animal husbandry sector, 39 projects are being implemented in Belarus, which involve housing 56,900 head of livestock. The total cost of these initiatives amounts to 107.2 million US dollars.

Simultaneously, bilateral trade continues to grow. According to data presented at the meeting, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Belarus reached 965 million US dollars in 2025, and from January to August 2026, this amount was 731.3 million US dollars.

Davron Vakhabov emphasized the need for the cooperation between chambers of commerce and industry to be filled with concrete projects, as well as expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs to enter new markets and develop industrial partnerships.

Participants also discussed ways to more actively involve businesses in international exhibitions and business events, exchange experiences, and establish direct contacts between entrepreneurs from CIS countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on increasing the number of joint exhibition and business events, developing industrial cooperation, and promoting new investment projects.
