The DinellJohansson office was responsible for the design of a fruit kiosk located in the center of Stockholm, specifically in Fridhemsplan square. This kiosk was conceived to serve Gazmend Likaj, who has been selling fruit in the same location for sixteen years.
Gazmend Likaj, highly appreciated by the local community and with many regular customers, now owns his own kiosk. This change implies a reduction in his workload while maintaining the high quality of the fruit offered to consumers.
The scope of the project required the creation of a compact and versatile structure whose shape could harmonize with the trees already present in the square. One of the central objectives was to prevent the back of the kiosk from facing the park.
To achieve this goal, the team proposed a glazed cladding around the entire perimeter of the kiosk, ensuring that the park remained visible through the structure. The design includes a sloped roof and neon signage positioned above, visible from Fridhemsgatan street.
Throughout the day, the kiosk facades gain dynamism when the shutters are opened to display the products. The fruits are kept safe by two fixed covers and large awnings installed on the smaller sides of the structure.
