Multi-platinum R&B artist Mario is coming to Pretoria to headline the debut We Love R&B Concert Experience. He will join previously announced artists Dru Hill and Silk to present an evening of nostalgic hits and classic R&B compositions.
The concert, organized by Remoakantse Holdings, will take place at SunBet Arena on Time Square, Menlyn, on Saturday, May 22, 2027. Mario, a two-time Grammy nominee, has over twenty years of career experience and is considered one of the most recognizable voices in the R&B genre.
Mario gained international fame with the hit song 'Let Me Love You' and has also released many fan-favorite songs, including 'Just a Friend 2002', 'How Do I Breathe', 'Crying Out for Me', and 'Music for Love'. His performance in Pretoria will be on the same stage as Dru Hill, known for tracks such as 'In My Bed', 'Never Make a Promise', and 'These Are the Times', as well as the acclaimed quartet Silk, whose repertoire includes 'Freak Me' and 'Meeting in My Bedroom'.
Thabiso Mogashwa, Managing Director of Remoakantse Holdings, noted that Mario's participation makes the event a memorable experience for South African fans. He stated: 'We said there would be another big announcement, and we are happy to finally share it. Mario is an incredible artist with a catalog that has spanned generations, and having him as a headliner alongside Dru Hill and Silk is exactly the R&B experience we wanted to bring to Pretoria.'
Mogashwa added that since these artists are multi-platinum performers whose music people know, love, and grew up with, they are very excited to bring them together on one stage, giving South African fans the chance to hear these songs live. He emphasized: 'It will be a very special evening.'
With the confirmation of Mario, Dru Hill, and Silk's participation, We Love R&B Concert Experience promises an evening of nostalgia, live performances, and the most recognizable sounds of this genre. Tickets are available exclusively on Webtickets and at Pick n Pay outlets nationwide.
