Nestlé milk substitute sample taken at The Lalit hotel deemed unsafe, sale banned

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) declared a sample of Nestlé's Low Fat Dairy Whitener milk substitute unsafe and of low quality following laboratory analysis. According to the notification published by FSSAI, the product sample was taken from the 'The Lalit' hotel complex located in Connaught Place, New Delhi.

Laboratory testing of the sample, conducted by a food analyst, showed that it does not comply with the standards established by the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006.

FSSAI notified the food business operator of the inspection results and provided a copy of the laboratory analysis report for necessary action. Furthermore, FSSAI sent a notification to Bharat Hotels Ltd. regarding the non-compliant Nestlé product. The food business operator has been given the opportunity to appeal the food analyst's report within the stipulated time frame in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006.

Meanwhile, officials ordered the immediate cessation of sales of the relevant product by the food business operator. This incident is related to the actions of food safety authorities concerning samples of packaged food products that do not meet established safety and quality standards. Consumers were advised to check official updates and product information before purchasing or using products from the affected batch.
