Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced the recall of its powerful cruiser motorcycle, the Rebel 500, due to a discovered defect. The recall affects models manufactured between April 2025 and August 2025.
This issue is observed not only in India but also in the global market. Currently, there are only 96 such motorcycles in India. The recall is related to the bolt that secures the steering lock, as it was not properly tightened during assembly.
In some cases, this bolt may loosen over time, which could potentially affect the steering wheel's movement. However, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India reported that no issues caused by this defect have occurred to date.
The recall will affect 96 motorcycles sold in India during the specified period. As a precaution, Honda will free replace the steering lock fastening bolt on all affected motorcycles, regardless of the vehicle's warranty status.
Customers are not required to immediately visit a Honda service center. The recall process will begin in the first week of November. For this, owners must visit a Honda BigWing dealership.
Honda will notify affected customers via phone calls, SMS notifications, and email. The dealership will contact the motorcycle owner to schedule the service.
For owners of the Honda Rebel 500, the company has prepared an online system to check for affected motorcycles. Owners need to go to the recall campaign section on the official company website and enter their motorcycle's vehicle verification number to obtain the necessary information.
