Honda has revealed the 2027 lineup for the City family, covering both Sedan and Hatchback versions. The main change is in the front design, complemented by adjustments to the content of the different versions and the launch of the City Hatchback RS, a visually sporty edition positioned above the Touring.
In a market dominated by compact SUVs (where Honda competes with the WR-V) and versatile vehicles, sedans and hatchbacks have become less common. However, for Honda, this pair of models remains relevant, as between January and August 2026, they registered sales of nearly 19 thousand units, representing 25% of the automaker's total sales that year.
The percentage of sedans and hatchbacks from the Japanese manufacturer is aligned with the overall sales volume, as despite utilities and pickups being the majority, three-volume bodies and hatchbacks still account for about one-third of the national retail market.
The vehicles will be available at dealerships at the beginning of November, but pre-sales will start this Saturday (the 3rd). In this initial phase, 3,000 units will be made available, divided equally between Sedan (1,500) and Hatchback (1,500).
Pricing and Purchase Conditions
In regular sales channels, the City LX is priced at R$ 117,700, for both the Hatchback and Sedan versions. The EX version starts at R$ 137,400 for the Hatchback and R$ 138,400 for the Sedan. The EXL costs R$ 144,800 and R$ 145,800, respectively. The Touring is priced at R$ 153,300 for the Hatchback and R$ 154,300 for the Sedan, while the new City Hatchback RS is valued at R$ 156,400.
During the pre-sale, the values remain the same as those practiced in the 2026 model year. The campaign continues until the start of normal sales or while the stock of 3,000 vehicles lasts. For customers who finance through Banco Honda during this period, the company offers licensing and registration.
Aesthetic and Technological Updates
The 2027 City received updates to the headlights and front bumpers. All versions now come equipped with standard Full LED lighting, and the Touring and RS versions add an LED bar connecting the headlights.
The front also features a new body-colored trim that integrates the Honda logo and extends laterally. According to Honda, this change visually gives the hood a more elongated look, inspired by the Prelude design. Furthermore, the upper grille adopts a honeycomb pattern on all models, and the bumpers have been redesigned, showing distinctions between Sedan and Hatchback.
At the rear, the Sedan received a new bumper, and the Hatchback RS features a differentiated finish. The alloy wheels remain 16 inches, but present distinct finishes depending on the version.
RS Version Highlights
The biggest innovation in the line is the City Hatchback RS. This configuration features black roof, mirror caps, antenna, and a rear spoiler, along with darkened finish wheels, RS emblems, and a sporty exhaust design.
Internally, the RS has a black roof, red stitching, and aluminum pedals. It is important to note that this version uses the same 1.5 flex engine found in the other configurations, indicating that the sportiness is primarily aesthetic.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2027 lineup maintains the 1.5 flex four-cylinder engine, equipped with direct injection, dual overhead camshafts, i-VTEC system, and VTC variable control. This engine generates 126 hp at 6,200 rpm, whether running on ethanol or gasoline. Maximum torque reaches 15.8 kgfm at 4,600 rpm with ethanol and 15.5 kgfm at the same speed with gasoline.
The transmission remains an automatic CVT, featuring the Step-shift system, which simulates gear changes at maximum acceleration, and EDDB, which employs engine braking in certain deceleration situations.
Efficiency and Additional Features
According to data from the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV) released by Honda, the City Sedan achieves 9.1 km/l in the city and 10.8 km/l on the highway using ethanol. With gasoline, the figures are 12.9 km/l urban and 15.3 km/l highway.
The 10-inch multimedia center is now standard on the Touring and RS versions. This system offers a touch screen with gesture control and wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Honda Sensing package has also been expanded in the lineup. It is now offered as standard equipment on the EX, EXL, Touring, and RS versions, incorporating Low Speed Follow (LSF) into the adaptive cruise control. The safety suite includes autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning and correction, and automatic headlight switching.
All versions are equipped with six airbags, stability and traction control, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring, and emergency braking assistance. The myHonda Connect connectivity feature is available starting from the EXL version. The warranty offered for the 2027 lineup remains six years, without mileage restriction.
