Despite facing less favorable months, Nvidia has returned to a positive period. On Friday, October 2nd, Nvidia's stock value registered another record, reaching nearly $238 at the peak of the day. This performance raised the company's market value to close to $6 trillion (which is equivalent to R$ 31.3 trillion in direct conversion).
At the time the text was written, each Nvidia share was trading at $234.5 on the Nasdaq, although there was a slight drop. However, this level demonstrates an appreciation of almost 25% compared to the end of July, a period when uncertainty in the Artificial Intelligence market had caused a sharp decline in stock prices.
As a result, Nvidia's market capitalization reached $5.65 trillion that afternoon. This achievement solidifies the company's position as a leader in the stock market, ahead of Apple, which holds second place with a significantly lower market value of $4.87 trillion.
According to Bloomberg, the succession of rises in Nvidia's shares is primarily linked to the launch of Meta Muse, an AI agent presented in September, capable of executing various actions after receiving goals defined by the user. The connection between Nvidia and Muse lies in the fact that the new feature uses the Muse Spark artificial intelligence engine, which demands immense computational power. The essential hardware infrastructure for this is provided mainly by Nvidia, which is recognized as a benchmark in the development of AI chips.
There is optimism in the market about the success of Muse as a service. If this materializes, Meta should continue to demand Nvidia chips, which excited investors with this projection. Additionally, another factor that boosted the positive phase was the announcement made by Nvidia itself earlier in the week regarding the expansion of its $150 billion share buyback program.
