Students at the Center for Professional and Technological Education in Services (Cept) Campos Pereira, located in Rio Branco, have raised complaints regarding problems with the building's infrastructure, the quality of the food, and delays in the payment of transportation aid intended for students.
These complaints were presented in a video shared on social media last Wednesday, the 30th. In the material, the students requested corrective actions to improve study conditions, showing the current state of the location and stating that the problems persist even after a mobilization carried out approximately a year ago.
According to the student group, there are damaged areas of the roof, floors in a state of deterioration, inoperable air conditioning units, and near-weekly water scarcity. Additionally, they reported finding larvae in the food served at the institution.
In response, the State Institute of Professional and Technological Education (Ieptec), the entity responsible for the school, communicated that teams are on site to supervise structural repairs, check the installation of newly arrived air conditioning units, and make improvements to the kitchen.
More information about the complaints and lack of materials
One female student, who preferred not to be identified, completed the hairdressing course offered by the center in July of this year and detailed the difficulties faced during classes. She mentioned problems with the room structure, the absence of potable water, and the delay in the delivery of promised materials.
The student reported that the classroom frequently flooded due to clogged pipes. Furthermore, there were times when they drank contaminated water because the drinking fountain required maintenance, something only discovered after a colleague noticed the water's coloration.
At the beginning of the course, the class was informed about receiving a professional kit and a scholarship of R$ 800, to be paid in two installments of R$ 400, conditional on attendance. Although the first installment was paid during the course, the second was only credited after completion, following several student insistences.
The student described the receipt process as a 'true humiliation,' citing the bureaucratic difficulty in obtaining information and values. The students also pointed out flaws in the food, such as the lack of snacks and episodes of consuming impure water due to drinking fountain maintenance failure.
Even after receiving the amount, the student reported still awaiting the professional kit, which should contain supplies for the hairdressing profession. Screenshots of conversations from the class's WhatsApp group, sent to the report, show the students demanding answers about the kits and payments.
In one message, a student questioned the deadline for receiving the scholarship, given that a month had already passed since the end of the course without the deposit. In response to the demands, an institutional representative alleged that the initially delivered dryer and iron did not meet quality standards, and that new equipment had been requested from the supplier, pending arrival.
Delays in benefit payment
Luan Nascimento Lima, 20 years old, attended Cept Campos Pereira between 2024 and 2025. He told g1 that he finished the course without receiving the transport incentive during the academic period, with the money being deposited only months after completing the training.
According to Luan, the benefit had been promised, but when students questioned the payment, they received justifications that the process was still ongoing. He added that the transport provided by the school covered the route to the establishment but did not solve the students' commute between their homes and the boarding point.
The former student also commented that the availability of food was intermittent, and when there was a meal, the options were limited, such as egg farofa, rice, and beans. For him, this situation particularly impacted those who went directly from work to classes or needed to leave very early from home to catch the bus.
Luan also mentioned structural problems during his time at the school, such as rooms without tiles and the delay in carrying out repairs. He added that during a first aid and instrumentation class, they noticed the absence of fire extinguishers on site, in addition to constant delays in teacher payments.
Ieptec informed that the damaged floor was repaired in September, while the request to replace the corridor ceiling, which gave way after a gust of wind, was made. The State Institute of Professional and Technological Education (Ieptec) provided public clarifications regarding the complaints made by students at Cept Campos Pereira, in a video released on Wednesday, September 30th.
Regarding air conditioning, the problem is restricted to the three computer labs used in practical classes. Currently, these spaces have 18 thousand BTU air conditioners. To improve the climate, Ieptec has already requested 24 thousand BTU units, which should be installed in the coming days.
Concerning the floor crack, the damage was identified on September 16th and corrected the next day by replacing the compromised parts. As for the corridor ceiling, part of the structure was affected after a strong wind and rain recorded on Friday, September 25th, giving way on Tuesday, September 29th. The damaged area was removed the following day, and the replacement of the material has already been requested, with an expected completion date by Friday, October 2nd.
Regarding Student Aid, Ieptec declared that the resources were requested from the State Secretariat of Education (SEE), which indicated that pending transfers will be normalized as quickly as possible. Concerning school transport, students of the Ieptec Network use buses provided by the institution.
As for food issues, Ieptec assured that it monitors the preparation and distribution of meals, strictly following hygiene, handling, and food safety standards. The institution reiterated that it is attentive to any reports from students and will take appropriate measures upon identifying any irregularity.
Ieptec recognized the relevance of the student manifestation and reaffirmed its commitment to welcoming the school community, resolving the pointed-out demands, and ensuring appropriate and safe conditions for the professional training of students in the Network.
Clarification from SEE-AC
The State Secretariat of Education and Culture of Acre (SEE) communicated that the payments for the Student Aid of students at CEPT Campos Pereira are underway. One installment was released this Thursday, October 1st, and the remaining payments will follow the established financial schedule.
