Olive harvest has begun in Tarom, a major production center in Iran

The olive harvesting season has started, and farmers in the Tarom district, Zanjan province, are actively engaged in gathering the crop and preparing it for processing.

After the harvested olives are delivered to local processing workshops, they are sorted according to the size and dimensions of the fruits. They are then cracked using specialized equipment in preparation for further processing stages.

Olive harvesting and processing are among the most important agricultural activities in Tarom. Every year, a significant number of farmers turn to this crop when the harvest season begins. This activity plays a substantial role in the local agrarian economy and provides livelihoods for many farms in the district.

Tarom is recognized as one of the main olive production areas in Iran and is widely known as a key center of the country's olive industry. Approximately 18,000 hectares are dedicated to olive cultivation in the district, and local agricultural officials forecast a production of about 50,000 tons of olives this year. Thus, olive cultivation constitutes a significant part of Tarom's agrarian economy, and the development of processing facilities has further strengthened the role of this crop in local employment and value-added production.
