CFMOTO Brazil announced on Thursday (1) that the next cycle of motorcycle reservations will start on Monday (5) at 12 am. The round, which will make approximately 700 units available, was scheduled for this Wednesday (30) but had to be rescheduled due to an issue detected in the database connected to the sales platform.
This setback occurred specifically with the batch that the manufacturer itself considers the largest since the beginning of its commercial activities in Brazil, spanning five months. Since starting sales in the country, CFMOTO has operated with limited batches, requiring reservations to be made exclusively online and payment to be made via Pix. Any failure in the website structure prevents the completion of the sale.
Details about the system failure
In an official statement, CFMOTO attributed the inconvenience to a "temporary malfunction" in the international database infrastructure supporting the reservation platform. The company emphasized that there was no failure in the reservation mechanism itself.
For consumers looking to purchase a motorcycle, this technical distinction is irrelevant, as the platform depends on this infrastructure to operate, and instability within it was the factor that prevented the batch from opening on the initially planned date. Although the note acknowledges that the platform remained accessible, it argues that the incident could harm access and equality among customers, motivating the decision to postpone the operation.
This change is considered relevant given the highly competitive nature of the process, where decisions can be made in mere seconds. The statement did not provide details about the nature of the failure, the duration of the instability, or the measures adopted to resolve it. CFMOTO only assured that the infrastructure was "fully restored and validated," a guarantee that will only be tested on Monday.
Information about the new batch and purchasing procedures
The new batch will feature around 700 motorcycles, representing an increase of approximately 200 units compared to previous phases, which totaled around 500 units. Available models include the four sold by the brand in the national territory: Ibex 450, Ibex 700, CL-C 450, and CL-C 450 Bobber. CFMOTO has not yet specified how these units will be distributed among the models.
Distribution remains restricted to dealerships located in the South and Southeast regions, covering eight cities across five states. The procedure disclosed before the postponement established that reservations must be made through the brand's official website, at reserva.cfmoto.com.br. The interested party must select one of the partner dealerships, choose the desired model, fill in their registration data, and make the payment via Pix. Only after confirmation will the selected store contact them to proceed with the purchase.
The official note did not indicate any changes to the purchasing method, nor did it announce modifications to the prices; up to now, the prices remain unchanged, already including freight to the dealerships.
