The schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup was published on October 1st. India's tournament start is planned with a tough match against the reigning champion Australia. The first match will take place on October 7th at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.
Three days later, on October 10th, the Indian team will face their long-time rival Pakistan. This game will be held at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
India is included in Group A along with Australia, Pakistan, co-host Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and one qualifying team. According to the schedule, on October 14th, India will play against Afghanistan in Centurion (now Tswane). Next, on October 17th, there will be a match against the qualifying team in Bloemfontein. India's last group match is set for October 24th against co-host Zimbabwe at New Victoria Falls Stadium.
After the conclusion of the group stage, starting from October 25th, the Super 7 stage will begin. Three best teams from each group, as well as the best fourth-placed team from both groups, will participate in this stage.
According to the ICC seeding system, India received an A1 rating, Australia an A2, and Pakistan an A3. England has a B4 rating, while New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka received ratings B1, B2, and B3 respectively. If any of these teams fail to qualify, their spot will be taken by a qualifying team with the corresponding rating.
Should they qualify for the Super 7, India and Pakistan will meet again on November 7th in Cape Town. Before that, on October 28th, India will also play against Australia in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
The first semi-final of the tournament is scheduled for November 17th in Cape Town, and the second for November 18th in Centurion. The final match will take place on November 21st at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
A total of 12 matches will be held during the World Cup across various venues. In Windhoek, Namibia, there will be three super series matches and three group matches. In Zimbabwe, Harare, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls stadiums will be used. In South Africa, games will be played in Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Tswane (Centurion), Bloemfontein, Durban, Gqeberha City, and Ekurhuleni.
Ticket prices range from 9.62 US dollars (158 Rand) to 31.31 US dollars (514 Rand). ICC Chairman Jay Shah noted that the publication of the schedule and the start of ticket sales are important steps for promoting the tournament, and the ICC aims to attract as many fans as possible through affordable prices.
