New Urgench Airport Terminal Will Be Directly Connected by Railway to Khiva

Urgench International Airport will gain a direct railway connection to Khiva thanks to the new terminal. This will allow arriving passengers to easily transfer to a train and continue their journey to the tourist center of Khorezm.

This information became known after a correspondent from Podrobno.uz visited the air hub. The Director of Urgench Airport, Oibek Matkarimov, announced that the railway line located near the future terminal has already been constructed.

According to Matkarimov, this railway branch guarantees direct access from the terminal to rail transport. He specified that passengers will be able to reach Khiva via a single line while remaining within the terminal area.

Furthermore, an improved station area is planned to be developed in front of the new terminal. This area will cover approximately 20 thousand square meters and will be equipped with pedestrian and access roads. The parking space is designed to accommodate about a thousand vehicles.

Previously, the launch of new high-speed electric trains between Khiva and Bukhara was announced, which began running on September 9th. These trains have a capacity of 415 passengers, and the travel time between these cities is about four and a half hours.
