Film 'Hanuman Ansh' highlights the theme of selfless service and humanism

The author notes that the film 'Hanuman Ansh' is a movie that emphasizes the essence of selfless service. The focus on humanism, compassion, feeding the hungry, and simple acts of kindness as the highest forms of spiritual expression makes this picture suitable for viewing by believing families.

Director Vishal Chaturvedi warns viewers before the credits begin that cinematic fiction has been used in this biographical drama about the legendary saint Nime Karali Baba. This becomes apparent throughout the film, as some scenes may not correspond to real events.

Chaturvedi adapted the plot based on his research and the book 'Divine Detour', as well as on old oral traditions passed down by followers, which are, of course, colored by their own interpretations.

Despite the appearance of new action films every weekend, 'Hanuman Ansh' serves as a pleasant counterpoint, telling the story of the saint's life from childhood to adulthood.

Young Lakshmi Narayan, convincingly portrayed by Vihan Shed, experiences grief after his mother's death. Driven by naive faith that appealing to Lord Hanuman will help reunite him with her, he leaves home and embarks on a long journey across India until achieving independence.

As he grows up (a role brilliantly played by Shobhinav Satya), his personal grief gradually transforms into a broader understanding that true devotion lies not in dramatic miracles but in quiet, selfless service to humanity (seva).

The plot revolves around how he conveys this idea to all who follow him while performing a series of miracles to win their favor. However, the pace of the plot could be significantly faster to avoid audience fatigue. At times, the film seems to be just a collection of religious sketches rather than a purposeful biographical drama.

Nevertheless, the attention to humanism, compassion, providing food for the needy, and simple good deeds as the highest forms of spiritual self-expression makes 'Hanuman Ansh' a film worth watching with family for believers.
