Emphasizing that the meeting focused primarily on the energy cooperation of the two countries, the minister added that given the very suitable opportunities in the Republic of Azerbaijan, energy trade and other areas of interaction were discussed in detail, and opinions were exchanged.
The Minister of Oil stated that it was decided to continue working on these issues through working groups initiated by both sides, with the aim of achieving concrete results.
The meeting between the Minister of Oil and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place today. Previously, in the months of Mehr and Bahman 1403, they met in Tehran, where both sides emphasized the need to review the development of cooperation in the energy sector within a joint working group.
Energy relations between Iran and Azerbaijan have a long history. The geographical location of both countries on the shores of the Caspian Sea, their proximity to regional energy markets, and Iran's access to an extensive transmission network have contributed to the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the energy industry.

He noted that despite the existing tensions in the region, relations and cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are developing in various fields, and this trend will continue.
Mustafaev added that priority issues and prospects for interaction between the two states were considered at this meeting, and issues of trade, logistics, transport, and energy were analyzed.
Addressing the increase in trade turnover, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan reported that the volume of trade between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan has increased, and there is also growth in the volume of cargo transportation and goods transport within the International North-South Corridor.
He continued that joint projects in all areas of cooperation are moving forward, and the latest status of the implementation of these projects was studied at this meeting.
Mustafaev mentioned some joint infrastructure projects between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, noting that the construction of the bridge over the Aras River, the Aghband-Kalaleh project, and the railway freight terminal in Astara are almost complete. The opening of these facilities with his Iranian counterpart was discussed so that they can start functioning as soon as possible.
In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan stated the fruitful cooperation between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in various fields, saying that the Republic of Azerbaijan is interested in deepening its ties and partnership with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
