Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ models, representing the latest generation of high-end tablets from the South Korean company. These devices are equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, run on Android 17 and One UI 9, feature AMOLED screens up to 14.6 inches, and offer a battery capable of supporting up to 23 hours of video playback.
The larger model features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. In contrast, the Tab S12+ has a 12.6-inch panel with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,752 pixels. In both cases, the maximum brightness level reaches 1,600 nits.
Commercialization of the devices in specific markets is scheduled to begin on October 7th, with gray being the initial launch color. There are rumors that the official announcement in Brazil may occur the following week, although Samsung has not yet disclosed the prices.
The new line utilizes the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, a 3-nanometer processor released in 2025. According to Samsung, the Tab S12 Ultra demonstrates up to 61% superior NPU performance, 19% faster CPU, and 17% better GPU when compared to the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
In terms of battery, the Tab S12 Ultra has 11,600 mAh, with an estimated autonomy of up to 23 hours of video, while the Tab S12+ has 10,600 mAh and up to 21 hours. Both models support 45W fast charging. Regarding dimensions, the Ultra measures 5.1 mm thick, and the S12+ measures 5.3 mm. Furthermore, the tablets are water and dust resistant with IP68 certification and come with the S Pen stylus.
Technical specifications include 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of internal storage, and compatibility with microSD cards up to 2 TB. The Ultra model is equipped with Wi-Fi 7, while the S12+ uses Wi-Fi 6E. Both share support for Bluetooth 6.0.
The new tablets are launched out of the box with Android 17 and One UI 9. Samsung guarantees users up to seven operating system updates and seven years of security updates. Integrated artificial intelligence features include Gemini, Bixby, and Perplexity. Additionally, the screen allows segmentation into up to three distinct areas for simultaneous application execution.
In the creative area, there is a significant novelty: Adobe Photoshop will be pre-installed on the Galaxy Tab S12, offering support for the S Pen and generative AI tools from Firefly. The tablet version of Photoshop will be exclusively available on the Galaxy Store for a minimum period of six months after October 7th. Buyers will also receive four months of Photoshop Premium for mobile devices, and other applications such as Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, and Clip Studio Paint will have discount offers or free periods, depending on the market.
To conclude, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+ will start selling in selected markets on October 7th, initially in gray. Samsung has not yet disclosed the prices, and availability in Brazil will be announced soon, according to unconfirmed information; the announcement in the country is expected next week. Configurations and prices for the Brazilian market remain unknown. This new line succeeds the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, which were presented in 2025 with a similar focus on productivity.
