After a seven-year hiatus since the release of «GIANTS», the virtual group True Damage is back. Riot Games confirmed this Tuesday, the 29th, the return of the League of Legends collective, which will be responsible for the theme song of the League of Legends World Championship 2026.

The new track, titled «Know My Name», is scheduled for release on October 8th at 10 PM Brasília time, and will be available on major streaming platforms. This release will be complemented by a music video shown on the official League of Legends YouTube channel.
In addition to the musical release, True Damage will perform during the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 World Championship, scheduled for November 14th at the Barclays Center in New York.
True Damage was created in 2019 as a musical project inserted into the universe of League of Legends. The group is composed of musical representations of five champions: Akali, Ekko, Qiyana, Senna, and Yasuo. Their first and only single to date was «GIANTS», which, according to Riot Games, accumulated over 230 million streams across various platforms since its release.
For this return, SOYEON, a member of i-dle, will take on the role of Akali. The new lineup will also feature Coco Jones as Senna, Vic Mensa as Ekko, and Sofía Reyes as Qiyana.
SOYEON expressed her satisfaction with the return, stating: «It is a huge honor to participate in True Damage again, especially for this year's World Championship theme song». She added: «I can't wait to see the reaction of LoL fans when they hear the music.»
«Know My Name» will be the thirteenth League of Legends World Championship theme song and represents the first time one of Riot's virtual groups has taken on this role directly. In recent years, the company has collaborated with artists such as NewJeans, Linkin Park, and G.E.M. for the tournament soundtracks.
Maria Egan, Global Music Head at Riot Games, justified the choice of True Damage, mentioning that it is linked to the staging of the decisive phase in New York. She explained: «The World Championship theme song is the most anticipated moment for LoL players every year, and with the competition coming to New York this year, we thought True Damage was the perfect group to set the tone for the event.»
Riot Games describes the new song as an evolution of the hip-hop style presented by the group in 2019, now associated with the concepts of ambition, individuality, and competitiveness inherent to the World Championship.
League of Legends World Championship 2026
The League of Legends World Championship 2026 will begin on October 15th, with the Play-In Stage taking place in Los Angeles. The best-ranked teams from international professional leagues will compete for the title over about a month. The competition will run until November 14th, when the final stage will be held in New York at the Barclays Center. Before the crucial matches, True Damage will present «Know My Name» during the opening ceremony.
