The third edition of the Red Bull Unlocked event in Cape Town brought together ten different venues and over 70 DJs and artists within the Makers Landing area. On the night of Saturday, September 26th, attendees did not have to travel across the city, as Makers Landing and the Cruise Terminal at V&A Waterfront transformed into a condensed version of the city's nightlife.
Throughout the evening, various parts of the space hosted performances, showcasing a wide range of musical genres, including Amapiano, hip-hop, Afro House, deep house, and R&B. Each of the ten participating venues contributed its unique style, sound, and atmosphere to the overall presentation.
Among the venues that participated were both permanent locations such as Souk, Destiny, Drama, Fools Gold Social Bar, and Broke, as well as new participants: Texas, HALO, Beluga, Club Paradise, and The Athletic Club & Social. Guests could move freely between the rooms, choosing a spot depending on the music or mood.
Souk offered its usual melody and soulful sound, while Destiny featured a more polished club environment. The pink neon and graffiti-covered statues in Drama were instantly recognizable, and Fools Gold brought its relaxed social bar character.
Broke also took part, which functions as a store during the day but is known for its trendy parties at night. The new venues gave regular guests the opportunity to check out places they usually don't visit.
The musical diversity covered all zones throughout the evening. Performers included A-Reece, Dee Koala, Oscar Mbo, Chelsea Sloan, and DJ PH, as well as Sliqe, Dwson, Jullian Gomes, CA MA GU, Babalwa M, Tristan Urwin, Inkosi YaMandebele, Enrico Celento, Les-D, and DJ Phil. Teddy Tumi, who also performed, noted that an attractive aspect was the ability to visit different clubs and artists without being tied to one spot all night.
