The exhibition 'Russian Literature in Lacquer Miniatures' opened in Tashkent, featuring works from the collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts of All Russia. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two museums as part of the event.
The opening ceremony for this exhibition took place on September 30 at the State Museum of History of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan. The exhibition showcases famous works, characters, and images from Russian literature embodied in the art of lacquer miniatures.
The exhibition was presented by Tatiana Ribkina, Director of the Museum of Decorative Arts of All Russia. According to her, this project is significant not only for presenting unique examples of decorative and applied arts to Uzbek audiences but also for establishing a long-term partnership between the two museums.
During the event, a 'Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation' was solemnly signed between the State Museum of History of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan and the Museum of Decorative Arts of All Russia. This document opens up new opportunities for developing professional ties between the museums, exchanging experience, and implementing joint cultural projects.
As part of a traditional initiative of the Center for Film Festivals and International Programs, a certificate confirming that the exhibition was gifted to the State Museum of History of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan was also presented. Furthermore, the administration of the Museum of Decorative Arts of All Russia decided to gift the State Museum of History of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan with lacquer boxes featured in the exhibition.
The exhibition became a significant cultural event, uniting Russian literature, the art of lacquer miniatures, and cultural interaction between the two countries.
