Mohammad Shumon, a student at the Faculty of Computer Engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), has created a new example of success among the country's youth due to his talents. The student, who is enrolled in the B.Tech 2027 batch, was offered an impressive annual Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) of 3.5 million rupees by the major global payment company Visa.
Before receiving this offer, Shumon successfully passed several rounds of complex online assessments and interviews to secure a summer internship at Visa. During this internship, he received a stipend of 90 thousand rupees per month.
The company extended this Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) to him even before the completion of his studies, based on Shumon's outstanding performance, technical understanding, and diligence during the internship. This means that after graduating, Shumon will start working directly at Visa.
This achievement was facilitated through the University Placement Cell (UPC) of Jamia.
The Faculty of Computer Engineering at Jamia, which has been operational since 2000, continuously prepares talented engineers who meet industry demands. Technical education at JMI began with civil engineering in 1978, and the formal engineering faculty was established in 1985.
Currently, the university offers B.Tech degrees in modern disciplines such as robotics, artificial intelligence, data science, and VLSI design. The university administration asserts that the job offer received by Mohammad Shumon is a direct testament to the high standard of education and practical capabilities of its students.
