The British-Ukrainian defense technology firm Occam has secured initial venture funding of €3.8 million. This injection of capital brings the company's total funding to €7 million, which will allow it to scale software designed to ensure full onboard autonomy for military drones.
The investment round was led by the Danish fund North Ventures. Finnish company Sparkmind and the British fund Grenadyr also participated. Existing investors, including Antler, Tech Horizons, T|Y|R.vc, and Freedom Fund, decided to reinvest in the company.
Occam operates from offices in London and Kyiv. The funds raised will be directly allocated to supporting research, development, and expanding the engineering team in Ukraine.
The company develops artificial intelligence that enables combat drones to execute missions independently. This software functions without constant connection to an operator and maintains resilience against electronic warfare interference.
The system is installed on existing drones from various manufacturers without requiring hardware modifications. It runs on an inexpensive computing unit and integrates via Occam Ludus's proprietary platform.
The technology is actively being implemented and tested with several Ukrainian manufacturers and military brigades. Feedback coming directly from the front lines helps accelerate product iterations.
With the new funding, Occam intends to accelerate deployment schedules, expand equipment integrations, and enter the defense markets of European and NATO countries.
