Azerbaijani kurash athlete Akhror Ziyodullaev won and secured a gold medal at the 2026 Ait-Nago Asian Games in the 81 kg weight category. This was reported by the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.

In the final match, Ziyodullaev defeated Iranian athlete Ramin Ahmadzoda, becoming the Asian Games champion.

Additionally, Uzbekistan received another award thanks to track and field athlete Anvar Anvarov. He won a bronze medal in the long jump, achieving a distance of 8.06 meters.

Thus, on September 28, Uzbek athletes added one gold and one bronze medal to the delegation's total count.

Iranian Kurash athlete Ramin Ahmadzadeh won a silver medal at the 2026 Asian Games, which took place on Monday in Tehran.

In the final match in the Men's -81 kg category, Ahmadzadeh lost to Uzbek athlete Akhror Ziyodullaev with a score of 3:0.

Two bronze medals were awarded to Adilet Akhmetgali from Kazakhstan and Ken Oyoshi from Japan.

The Kurash competitions at the 2026 Asian Games are being held from September 27 to 29 at Aichi Budokan.
