The futsal team from Uzbekistan concluded its European tour by participating in two friendly matches against the Netherlands, resulting in losses on both occasions. The first match, held on September 21st, ended with a score of 0-1, while the second match on September 22nd finished 3-6.
In the opening fixture, the sole goal was registered in the 13th minute by Tevfik Ceyyar. Despite efforts by Uzbekistan to alter the game's trajectory, the Netherlands managed to sustain their slim advantage until the final whistle.
The second encounter saw Uzbekistan manage to score first in the 12th minute via Abbos Elmurodov, followed by Ayoub Boukhari who equalized just two minutes later. Mo Cich subsequently gave the Netherlands the lead in the 16th minute, and Stan van der Wal extended this advantage two minutes thereafter. Mashrab Adilov managed to narrow the gap before the half-time interval, bringing the score to 3-2.
During the second half, Ismail Ouaddou increased the Dutch lead by two goals. Khusniddin Nishonov reduced the deficit once more with Uzbekistan's third goal in the 32nd minute. In the concluding moments, Jordani Martinus scored twice, in the 38th and 39th minutes, securing a 6-3 victory for the Netherlands.
Regarding the coaching staff, the head coach of the Uzbekistan futsal team, Jose Maria Mendez, could not attend the team's European training camp. This absence stemmed from health issues that arose following events connected to the Uzbekistan Super Cup match. The Spanish coach initially underwent a medical check-up in Uzbekistan before traveling back to Spain for more detailed diagnostic testing.
Mendez was scheduled to complete the required medical evaluations in Spain, obtain the necessary medical documentation, and then join the squad in Budapest, as per an agreement. The Football Federation of Uzbekistan had already procured his flight ticket. He was anticipated to coach the team in friendly games against Hungary and the Netherlands.
However, the medical assessment process proved to be longer than anticipated. Consequently, Mendez was prevented from joining the Uzbekistan futsal team during its European training camp and is presently undergoing treatment in Madrid. The leadership of the Football Federation of Uzbekistan maintains consistent communication with the Spanish coach, and further updates regarding his health status and return schedule will be released at a later date.
