The demand for electric two-wheelers in the Indian market is constantly growing, with startups playing a key role in this revolution. In this race, Ather from Bangalore has achieved significant success by selling 800 thousand electric scooters across the country.
By reaching this new milestone, Ather has become the fourth electric motorcycle manufacturer in India to achieve such a figure. Previously, this achievement was demonstrated by TVS Motors, Ola Electric, and Bajaj Auto, which surpassed the mark of 800 thousand sold electric scooters.
It is worth noting that the Vida brand from Hero MotoCorp has not yet reached the threshold of 800 thousand units sold. According to data from the Vahan portal, Ather crossed the 800 thousand customer delivery mark for electric scooters on September 28, 2026.
Earlier, Ola crossed the 1 million scooter sales mark in March of this year, and TVS overtook Ola, reaching the 1 million mark in August. Bajaj reached the 800 thousand unit sales mark in June. Now, this success belongs to Ather Energy.
Analyzing Ather's sales, it is evident that its real growth began approximately four years ago, with a particularly sharp increase in sales starting from 2025. Between January 2025 and September 28, 2026, Ather sold about 475 thousand electric scooters, which accounts for approximately 59% of the total sales volume over the last 21 months.
Ather launched its new electric scooter, Konarc, on August 29, and the company hopes that the new model will accelerate sales. In August, the company sold 29,694 electric scooters nationwide, marking the third largest monthly sale for the company. The Rizta model contributed the most in August, accounting for about 76% of the total deliveries, while the 450 Series contributed about 23%. Given the current sales pace, Ather may complete 2026 with a total sales volume of around 350 thousand electric scooters.
The company's portfolio includes five electric scooter models. The most affordable, Konarc, is priced from 101,999 rupees, while the Rizta starts from 121,549 rupees. The Ather 450S starts from 127,888 rupees, the Ather 450 S starts from 151,046 rupees, and the most expensive option, Ather 450 Apex, starts from 1.95 lakh rupees.
