Andrey Stenin's international photo competition exhibition is preparing for its showing in Durban next month, presenting the local public with a powerful collection of award-winning photojournalistic works.
The exhibition will be free for visitors and will take place at KZN Media House, located at Osborne Road, Greyville, from October 7 to 23. The event is organized by National Media Group and African News Agency (ANA) in collaboration with Sputnik News Agency and Radio, and is recognized as one of the leading global platforms for photojournalism.
The exposition showcases compelling visual stories documenting significant moments of modernity—from struggles and triumphs to powerful human narratives. The exhibition celebrates the talent and dedication of emerging photographers from around the world who document important events through photography.
This year, similar to last year's presentation at Good Hope Gallery in the historic Good Hope Castle, the exhibition features selected winning works by photographers from over 200 countries, including Syria, Italy, Russia, South Africa, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and China.
These photographs open a window into diverse cultures, landscapes, and life experiences, demonstrating the power of visual storytelling capable of transcending borders. The competition was established in memory of Andrey Stenin, a photojournalist whose dedication to documenting events and telling stories continues to inspire photographers worldwide.
The official opening at KZN Media House is scheduled for October 6, with businessman and philanthropist Dr. Iqbal Surve among the invited guests. The exhibition itself will be open to the public from October 7 to 23.
