DoorDash, one of the leading global local commerce platforms, has opened its first office in India, located in Hyderabad. Initially, 500 specialists will work at the Hitec City hub, and over the next two years, the company plans to increase its staff to more than 3,000 people.
This talent center demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to the innovation and talent ecosystem of Telangana state. Employees in Hyderabad will support the global platform that serves over 56 million active consumers monthly in regions with populations exceeding one billion.
According to the company itself, DoorDash holds over 65 percent of the market share in the US and achieved a Gross Order Value (GOV) of over $100 billion in 2025. Initially, the Hyderabad hub will include Customer Experience and Integrity (CXI) teams, as well as General & Administrative (G&A) departments.
The CXI operations in Hyderabad will become DoorDash's third internal CXI center globally, alongside centers in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City. This hub will support DoorDash's global operations, helping to serve consumers, merchants, and Dashers across all company markets.
DoorDash operates in over 40 countries and processes more than 3 billion orders annually. Hyderabad will be one of three of DoorDash's CXI centers worldwide and will manage customer support organization from this location as an extension of the global CXI function. Over time, more specialized capabilities in integrity, fraud detection, and technical support may be added.

Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications of the Government of Telangana, noted that the selection of Hyderabad for developing the capabilities needed for DoorDash's rapid growth is a strong confirmation of Hyderabad's evolution as a global talent hub. He added that, as one of the world's leading local commerce platforms with operations in 40 countries and a GOV exceeding $100 billion in 2025, DoorDash is a significant addition to Hyderabad's growing hyperlocal digital commerce ecosystem.
The Minister emphasized that the expected growth of the Hyderabad hub to a staff of over 3,000 will bring global competencies in hyperlocal commerce, customer experience, technology, and operations to Hyderabad. He stated that this goes beyond simply creating jobs, showing that Hyderabad is becoming a place where global digital enterprises can build and manage critical parts of their operations for markets around the world.
Jenna Konke, Senior Director of Workforce Strategy and Talent Acquisition Operations at DoorDash, stated that establishing DoorDash's first hub in India is a major milestone in expanding its global network of operations. DoorDash's presence enriches Hyderabad's ecosystem of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) by adding hyperlocal digital commerce. According to the Telangana government, there are already over 500 GCCs in the city. The state aims to create another 100 new GCCs to generate 100,000 highly skilled jobs and 300,000 indirect jobs. Currently, over 500,000 people work in Hyderabad's GCCs, and the workforce is expected to reach 1 million by 2029.
