Four individuals from the state of Telangana, who traveled to Russia seeking ordinary employment, are allegedly in a Russian military camp. Their families claim that these people were forced into work related to military activities.
These individuals have been identified as Bhukya Ravinder, Bhukya Ashok, Megavat Prakash from Nizamabad old district, and Mohammed Afzal Khan from Kamareddy district. According to their families, they left Russia several months ago after being promised jobs as assistants, cleaners, security guards, or auxiliary staff.
The families state that these people paid agents around 300 thousand rupees for the job offer with a monthly salary of up to 200 thousand rupees. Subsequently, they were forcibly transported for 12 hours or more and then, it is alleged, moved to a military camp or a remote forest area.
Despite traveling to Russia for routine work, these individuals were issued weapons, underwent military training, and were dressed in military uniforms. One of them supposedly sent a video recording claiming he was being held in the forest and prevented from escaping.
Family members also reported that some of them were sent to areas near the Russia-Ukraine conflict zone, raising serious concerns about their safety. In messages sent to relatives, these individuals allegedly mentioned artillery shelling and bombings, expressing fears of possible death.
The families immediately approached the Telangana government demanding intervention. Their complaint, it is reported, was directed to the NRI Cell of the General Administration Department. They also appealed to the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for diplomatic intervention and to ensure the safe return of these individuals to India.
