From January to August 2026, over 310 thousand foreign citizens arrived in Uzbekistan with commercial intentions. A significant portion of this flow comes from Afghanistan, where more than 281 thousand people arrived, accounting for approximately 90% of all such visits.
According to information from the National Committee of Uzbekistan on Statistics, Afghan citizens constitute almost nine out of every ten commercial visits. Turkmenistan ranked second in terms of visitors, attracting over 21 thousand visitors. Nearly 6 thousand people arrived in Uzbekistan from Tajikistan for business purposes.
Other countries show a smaller contribution to this flow: Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan report figures ranging from a few hundred to several thousand people. Russia and Turkey are also represented in the statistics, but their participation is limited to hundreds of trips—332 from Russia and 290 from Turkey. More than a thousand businessmen arrived from other countries.
Furthermore, it was announced that entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan will be able to conduct settlements through a new platform developed jointly with the Afghan Ghazanfar Bank. According to this scheme, payment for goods will be transferred to the Uzbek seller after the cargo reaches the Khayraton border trade hub.
