Xbox has introduced a new achievement system called Mythic Achievements, which will be granted to players who achieve 100% completion in a specific game. Upon reaching this milestone, the system displays a celebratory notification and awards maximum points to be added to the user's Gamerscore. The company stated that this feature was highly anticipated by the community and that older titles will also be included.
In addition to the new platinum achievement, Xbox implemented a 'Gaming' section in user profiles. Through this area, accessible on Xbox Series X, Series S, or PC, players can view the progress of their achievements across various games played on that account.
This novelty was presented by CEO Asha Sharma during the announcement of the new title Gears of War: E-Day, scheduled for October 2026, with an initial price starting from R$ 299 or available on launch day via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. However, Mythic Achievements is still in exclusive testing phase for Xbox Insider members and does not have a defined public release date.
The functioning of the new Xbox system mirrors the PlayStation model, requiring more than just finishing the narrative and completing all missions; certain achievements require performing specific actions during gameplay. The new 'Gaming' menu assists with this, gathering data on progress and details of each stage of the game.
Users have the option to filter and check only the pending achievements to complete the games. New achievements will be designated as 'add-ons,' which prevents them from counting towards achieving Mythic status. Another relevant aspect is the ability to share these achievements and compare performance with friends.
In comparison, Sony, on its PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PlayStation 5 (PS5) consoles, uses trophies in bronze, silver, gold, and platinum categories, with the latter reserved for those who obtain all others. To access the new Xbox feature, it is essential to be part of the Xbox Insider program, where the tools are still undergoing final approval. Entry is simple, allowing any Xbox player to participate: simply install the Xbox Insider package on the console or the Xbox Insider Hub on PC.
To use the new features, it is necessary to activate 'Previews' within the application, followed by reading and accepting the Terms and Conditions to proceed.
