Citroën plans to present at the Paris Motor Show a concept vehicle representing the next generation of the 2 CV, one of the company's most iconic cars. The event will take place from October 12th to 18th at the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, where the automaker will have an 850 m² space in Pavilion 4.
According to the manufacturer, this concept aims to incorporate the spirit of the 2 CV, produced between 1948 and 1990, adapting it to the contemporary setting with the goal of making mobility more desirable, accessible, and simple. Furthermore, Citroën will keep a second concept car under wraps, which will be revealed as a surprise.
Xavier Chardon, the brand's CEO, stated that Citroën will participate in the show with a 'completely renewed range' and concepts focused on making electric mobility more accessible. He and the design director, Pierre Leclercq, will attend a press conference at the stand on the morning of the 12th, immediately following the presentation by Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis.
Another highlighted novelty is the C3 Aircross Marine Nationale, a display car that will be seen by the public for the first time. This adventurous and rugged edition of the SUV pays tribute to the 400 years of the French Navy.
In line with this, Citroën will debut the Outdoor trim globally, which will be incorporated into the European lines of the Ami, C3, and C3 Aircross models. The brand will also celebrate the first anniversary of the current generation of the C5 Aircross with the C5 Aircross Emeraude version and display the special Collection series, available in Europe for the C3, C3 Aircross, and C4 models.
It should be noted that the C3 and C3 Aircross models intended for Europe differ from those sold in Brazil, where Citroën offers C3, Aircross, and Basalt versions developed specifically for emerging markets.
The stand will also feature the GEN4, the new generation of the Formula E car, presented with a unique paint job. This model is faster and more powerful than its predecessor and will debut during the 13th season of the championship. Drivers Nick Cassidy, Jean-Éric Vergne, and driver Doriane Pin, who belong to the brand's racing program, will sign autographs on October 13th and 16th.
A mezzanine spanning over 200 m² will host lectures, a bistro offering tastings of typical French gastronomy dishes, and a dedicated Spotify area where a music quiz will determine which Citroën model suits the visitor's profile. Throughout the week, there will be evening events with DJ performances.
Visitors can find a licensed merchandise store and a sticker album featuring historic brand models, available both at the stand and in dealerships. Belgian cartoonist Jean-Luc Delvaux, an admirer of the 2 CV and whose work inspired an element of one of the concepts, will sign autographs on the 15th.
