Scientists from Almalyk Technical Institute Win Awards at Engineering Competition

Scientists and faculty of the Almalyk State Technical Institute (ASTI) received several prizes and state awards at the national competition 'Engineers of the Future,' organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan.

The institute's development concerning the extraction of manganese and iron from metallurgical production slag took first place in the 'Best Invention' category among teaching staff. This technology has already been implemented in several domestic enterprises, as well as in the DEMIR GROUP company from Turkey.

Another development that received high praise from the jury is dedicated to optimizing hydrometallurgical processes for the selective extraction of manganese using artificial intelligence.

Representatives of the institute also secured third place in the 'Best Invention' category among practicing engineers thanks to a technology designed to extend the service life and restore hammer mills.

The competition brought together engineering, scientific, technical, and innovative developments aimed at solving practical production problems. ASTI projects covered three main areas: processing metallurgical waste, applying artificial intelligence in production, and improving industrial equipment.

The Mayor of Almalyk, Barkhayet Meliev, held a working meeting with Deputy Mayor Yuhan Hong Jiangliang and Chinese entrepreneurs as part of the delegation from the Tashkent region's visit to China. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent region administration.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of attracting investment, implementing production projects, and developing interregional cooperation. Information about Almalyk's investment potential, conditions for investors, and available opportunities was presented. Special attention was paid to attracting new capital investments, launching production facilities, and creating jobs.

Negotiation Results

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached with the company STRATEGY HG NAVI CAPITAL PTE.LTD. to implement a project worth 34.5 million US dollars in Almalyk. This enterprise will specialize in the production of metal, glass, engineering plastics, and plumbing fixtures.

Furthermore, plans were outlined to launch the production of household plastic goods with investments of 2 million US dollars and the creation of new jobs. The meeting also led to the conclusion of an agreement to establish kinship ties between Almalyk and Yuhan. The parties agreed to expand cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, economy, and other areas.
