Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing restrictions on the export of cash from Russia to member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), specifically Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
There is an exception for cash withdrawals made through airports, which will be determined by the Russian government. In such cases, citizens will need to provide a bank statement confirming the withdrawal of cash from their personal account.
In case of violation of these rules, the funds will be confiscated. For private individuals, amounts exceeding one million rubles are subject to seizure, while for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, the entire amount will be confiscated.
Previously, there was a restriction on cash exports for individuals amounting to 100,000 US dollars. Furthermore, the previous rules did not apply to Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, or Uzbekistan.
The new provisions affect, among other things, cash transactions between Russia and Uzbekistan.
