Tata Motors recently introduced the Tata Aeris, replacing its sole sedan, the Tigor. The company is currently testing a new model that is one of the brand's best-selling SUVs. This concerns the next generation of the Tata Nexon.
The vehicle was spotted during trials, with most of the body covered in camouflage. However, based on observations of this model in previous periods, some changes or new features can be anticipated for it.
Recent spy shots showed wheels with a design similar to the Tata Curve wheels. It is speculated that after finalizing the design, Tata may equip the future Nexon with 18-inch wheels, whereas the current version has 16-inch wheels. If the company implements this update, it will be a significant change.
In the spy shots, the Tata Nexon was seen with Curve-style wheels. Although the tire size could not be determined, the wheel design fully matches the Curve style. The company offers 18-inch wheels on the Curve model, and Tata has previously conducted similar experiments by using wheels from one car in another model range.
An example of this approach was the testing of the Harrier with Tata Hexa wheels, after which the vehicle was released with the same wheels, although the Harrier's design differed from the Hexa's.
Various modifications may appear in the design of the Tata Nexon. Updates may affect not only the front and rear sections but also the side profile. Furthermore, the company might address user complaints regarding headroom in the rear seats and add many new lifestyle features.
This compact crossover from Tata is expected to go on sale in 2027. Tata first launched the Tata Nexon in 2017. This model is available in petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric variants. Currently, the company has not provided any information regarding the release date or specifications.
The Nexon sells good volumes monthly. It is the second best-selling model in the company's Nexon portfolio. In August 2026, 18,431 units of this SUV were sold, compared to 14,004 units in August of last year, representing a year-on-year sales growth of 31.61%.
