Representatives of Russian business held discussions on the possibilities of implementing joint investment projects, industrial cooperation, and production localization in Karakalpakstan. This was reported by the Commercial Representation of Russia in Uzbekistan.
Russian representatives took part in international events on September 25–26 in Nukus dedicated to the development of salt processing and the chemical industry, as well as trade and investment cooperation.
Currently, 47 enterprises with Russian capital are operating in Karakalpakstan, making this region the second in terms of this indicator after China among foreign states.
During the visit, Albert Shaykhutdinov, a representative of the Commercial Representation of Russia in Uzbekistan, held meetings with representatives of the Government of Karakalpakstan, the Nukus mayor's office, the company "Uzkimyosanoat," as well as with delegations from Russian and Uzbek businesses.
The negotiations covered prospects for the development of the chemical and petrochemical industries, mechanical engineering, agriculture, industrial cooperation, production localization, and the implementation of joint investment projects.
The Russian delegation familiarized itself with the capabilities of facilities such as the Kungirot salt plant, the Barsakelmes salt mine, the International Logistics Center, and the Kungrad Salt Free Zone industrial zone.
Karakalpakstan is a region with a population of about 2 million people and has nearly 3.6 thousand manufacturing enterprises. The region possesses a large base of mineral raw materials.
