Young Indian spinner Shri Charani has achieved significant success in international cricket. In the ICC Women's T20I bowling rankings, Charani set a record that was previously unmatched among bowlers. She became the bowler with the highest number of ranking points in the history of the Women's T20I rankings, accumulating 817 points.
Charani surpassed the record held by Australian bowling star Megan Schutt. Schutt had earned 806 ranking points in the ICC Women's T20I rankings in November 2018. Charani's current ranking is 11 points higher than hers.
This historic achievement came to Charani after a brilliant performance at the Asian Games in Ichinago in 2026. In the Asian Games final, she played a key role in the match against Sri Lanka, taking 2 wickets for 13 runs. India defeated Sri Lanka by 147 runs, winning the gold medal. This performance not only contributed to India's victory but also elevated her ranking to a new level, strengthening her position in women's T20I cricket through consistently good play.
