Information regarding the felling of trees on the territory of the Tashkent Botanical Garden has not been confirmed. Environmental activist Alisher Nasimov inspected the site of the earthworks and clarified that the purpose of these activities is the restoration of the water body.
Previously, a video dated September 28 was sent to the editorial's Telegram bot, showing the cleared area and the progress of the earthworks. The video author stated that work on this section had been ongoing for approximately a week.
After this, Alisher Nasimov visited the site. He spoke with the director of the Botanical Garden. The director reported that there was previously a lake in this area that dried up and was then overgrown with reeds. Currently, the area is being cleaned and deepened to create a new water body.
According to Nasimov, the director also assured that no trees were damaged during the work. Consequently, reports about tree felling that circulated earlier proved to be false.
The environmental activist emphasized that this activity is part of a general initiative to create water bodies in Tashkent's parks. Employees of the environmental service were also present at the site.
It is worth noting that back in April, Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued an instruction regarding the need to create twelve new lakes in Tashkent to form a cooler microclimate in the city.
