Iranian kurash athlete Majid Vahid Barimanlou won a gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games on Tuesday.
In the final match in the Men's -66 kg category, he defeated Yosin Bobokalonov from Tajikistan with a score of 1:0.
Bronze medals were won by Kubanychbek Aybek Ulu from Kyrgyzstan and Sarvar Abdushukurov from Tajikistan.
Additionally, Fatemeh Barmaki from Iran also received a bronze medal in this sport after losing to Liu Li-lin Shi from Chinese Taipei in the women's +87 kg category.
Vahid Barimanlou's gold medal became Iran's ninth gold award at these Games. The kurash competitions are taking place from September 27 to 29 at the Aichi Budokan.
