Currently, the massive 308-wheel 'Mahabali' truck is attracting attention on the streets of Uttar Pradesh. This giant vehicle carries a machine weighing 164.28 metric tons, which is being transported from Belgium to Lakhimpur Kheri. The machine, approximately 41 meters long, is destined for the biopolymer plant located in Kumbhi, owned by the Balrampur sugar mill.
Despite the journey having been underway for several months, the 'Mahabali' has yet to reach its final destination.
The transport of this massive equipment began in April in Belgium. The machine was shipped to India by sea and, after about a month at sea, arrived at Paradeep port in Odisha. It was then loaded onto the specialized 308-wheel truck, which set off towards Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.
After leaving Paradeep, the 'Mahabali' truck traveled through the states of Jharkhand and Bihar to reach Uttar Pradesh. Due to its enormous size and significant weight, it could not travel at high speeds like ordinary vehicles. Obstacles related to height, width, and road conditions arose along the way.
On September 25, the giant truck entered the jurisdiction of Chandawli district, Uttar Pradesh. Difficulties arose with further movement near National Highway-19, close to the ring road in the Pandit Dindyal Upadhyay area. The reason was that the height and width of the truck and its cargo did not match the roadway.
In this situation, the team of logistics experts received permission from relevant departments and officials to organize an alternative route. Equipment, including excavators, was brought in place to facilitate this. After the road was prepared on Tuesday afternoon, the 'Mahabali' truck continued its journey towards Varanasi.
People are showing great interest in the passing 'Mahabali' truck. When news spread about the truck's halt in Chandawli, people from surrounding villages and from afar headed to the site. Many took photos with the giant truck and the machine on it. Several content creators also arrived at the scene to film videos. The 308 wheels and the colossal size of the truck most impressed the people.
According to logistics manager Aneek Bharti, the truck is planned to reach Lakhimpur via Gajipur, Gorakhor, and the Purvanchal expressway. Road obstacles are being resolved by obtaining permissions from the relevant authorities. The logistics team reports that if the journey proceeds according to plan, the 'Mahabali' truck will require another two to three weeks to reach Lakhimpur Kheri.
