The administration of the King George Medical University (KGMU) has adopted a firm stance regarding protests by nursing students. The university sent letters to the parents of these students urging them to keep their children away from demonstrations and ensure their regular attendance in academic and practical sessions.
The KGMU administration warned that if students are absent from classes or participate in protests, disciplinary action may be taken against them. Furthermore, it was noted that this could affect not only student attendance but also internal assessment and examinations.
The letters addressed to parents clearly stated that constant absence from classes and studies does not comply with university discipline. The administration's warning is not limited to protests. It also applies to cases where students do not attend classes and training sessions, as this can affect the mandatory attendance rate of 75 percent. Additionally, students may face difficulties related to internal assessment and exams. The university strongly requested that students focus on their studies and learning, and participate in events according to established rules.
