While India's payments ecosystem assesses the impact of new UPI pricing, artificial intelligence companies face a different challenge—how to ensure control over autonomous AI agents. Nvidia has released new security tools for such agents, claiming they could prevent a recent hacking attack on Hugging Face. These tools are designed to detect and localize uncontrolled agents before they bypass security systems.
In parallel, there is a growing push in India to make AI more accessible and useful. OpenAI has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. The campaign aims to demonstrate the practical application of ChatGPT for solving everyday tasks such as writing text, generating ideas, and learning. The company notes that its user base in India has doubled in the last year, and the campaign includes planned collaborations with content creators and interactive content.
The increasing adoption of AI is also opening opportunities for startups. Flipkart Ventures has provided support to AI-focused companies Alive and Keploy, combining financial investment with access to its mentorship, engineering expertise, and broader ecosystem. Alive uses AI to create and distribute curated lifestyle experiences, while Keploy helps developers automate regression testing using real application traffic.
In the financial sector, the Supreme Court has sought responses from the Reserve Bank of India and the Central Bank regarding a petition challenging the new MDR on UPI payments exceeding 2000 rupees. The court denied a temporary injunction, meaning the 0.4% commission on relevant seller transactions will take effect on October 15th. Peer-to-peer payments and transactions falling under exemptions will remain free.
