The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a decree awarding the winners and participants of the 46th World Chess Olympiad and the 3rd Para-Chess Olympiad. These competitions were held in Uzbekistan for the first time in Samarkand.
The document was published on the head of state's official website on September 28. According to the decree, awards were presented for successful participation in the tournaments, outstanding skills, determination, and resilience when competing against leading chess players from over 200 countries, as well as for contributing to strengthening Uzbekistan's international prestige and popularizing sports.
The honorary title 'Pride of Uzbekistan' was awarded to Muhiddin Madaminov, a member of the men's national team. Additionally, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Shamsiddin Vohidov, and Nodirbek Yakubboev received the title Honorary Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The head coach of the men's national team, Rustam Kasimdzhanov, and the coach of the para-chess team, Samandar Shermukhammadov, were awarded the title Honorary Coach. Kamil Sindarov, Deputy Chairman of the Chess Federation, received the title Honorary Youth Mentor.
Javhohir Sindarov was awarded the Order 'For Selfless Labor'. The 'Friendship' Order was presented to Nafisa Muminova, head coach of the women's national team, Bobir Sattorov, Secretary General of the Chess Federation, and Rashid Talipov, a sports official of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The 'Courage' Order was awarded to Jakhongir Vohidov, a member of the men's national team, and five participants of the para-chess team: Siroddin Zeynidinov, Selbi Kakishova, Akhadxon Kimsanboyev, Sardorbek Mamaradzhabov, and Marsel Shayusupov.
The 'Builder of the Future' medals were presented to chess players Abdimalik Abdisalimov, Khumun Begmuratov, Ortik Nigmatov, and Mukhammedzohid Suyarov, as well as specialists from the Chess Federation in information technology and methodology, Komiljon Azizov and Javlon Mardonov.
The 'Healthy Lifestyle' medal was presented to competition organizer and commentator Bakhtiyor Jumayev, as well as members of the women's national team Nilufarkhon Imomkuziyeva, Guldon Karimova, Umida Omonova, Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova, and Afruza Khamdamova.
