The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ibragim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbragim Yumaklı, to discuss new directions for bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, the current level of interaction, existing opportunities, and joint projects planned for further implementation were reviewed during the negotiations.
The parties agreed to focus special attention on the further development of agrarian partnership, including preparation for the next meeting of the working group on agricultural cooperation.
Priority areas identified include the development of animal husbandry and strengthening the fodder base, expanding cooperation in seed production, and developing drought-resistant varieties of agricultural crops.
The meeting also addressed issues of increasing the number of entrepreneurs involved in mutual trade of agricultural products. Furthermore, the development of fisheries and the expansion of scientific ties between the two countries were discussed.
During the visit, the Turkish delegation led by İbragim Yumaklı, together with Ibragim Abdurakhmonov, visited Tashkent State Agrarian University. Delegation members familiarized themselves with the conditions of student education, the university's modern infrastructure, and its work in training young specialists.
