Vegan Hungarian Tart with Fruit Filling

To prepare the vegan Hungarian tart, you will need to prepare the ingredients. The list includes 250 grams of vegan butter (Flora Plant Butter), a quarter cup (60 ml) of vegetable oil, a quarter cup (60 ml) of powdered sugar (can be increased if a sweeter taste is desired), one tablespoon (15 ml) of vanilla extract, half a cup (125 ml) of cornstarch (Maizena), and three measuring cups (250 ml x 3) of flour plus 30 ml, as well as mixed fruit jam or any other chosen jam.

Preparation Method

The first step is to preheat the oven to 180ºC. Using an electric mixer, beat the vegan butter, vegetable oil, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and airy. Then mix the flour and cornstarch, after which gradually add this mixture to the beaten mass to obtain a soft dough. It may not be necessary to use the entire amount of flour.

Take a square or rectangular baking tray. Line it with parchment paper or spray it with olive oil Spray and Cook. Distribute three quarters of the dough onto the tray in a layer about 1 cm thick. Use a fork to make holes in the rolled-out dough. Spread the jam evenly over the dough, and grate the remaining dough on top. Bake for approximately 30 to 45 minutes; the time depends on the thickness of the rolled-out dough. Once the tart is ready, cut it into squares and let it cool completely before serving. Note that oven temperatures may vary; if the tart is not fully cooked, continue baking until done.
