Colleagues Gurdal Sahina from Lund University, along with specialists from Turkey and Sweden, completed a retrospective observational study. They found that the use of an anticonvulsant drug, known as an anticonvulsant, significantly reduces the frequency of migraine auras.
Eighty-one patients who experienced frequent or severe auras participated in this study. These patients were treated at a neurological clinic in Lund between 2014 and 2022. All participants were prescribed prophylactic therapy with lamotrigine, which is off-label.
The results obtained were officially presented in the scientific journal Frontiers in Neurology.
