Over the past two years, Sindarov has risen into the top four of world chess players, won the World Cup, and achieved a historic result at the Candidates Tournament. His performance at the Candidates Tournament was one of the key achievements considered during this period. Sindarov achieved a result that no other participant in the competition had previously attained.
