The Ganga Expressway, the construction of which cost over 36 thousand crore rupees, has turned into a pond due to heavy rains. The water level rose at the Sonic Vasiratganj toll plaza in Unnao after three days of rainfall.
Local residents headed there with nets to catch fish in the flooded waters, and videos of this event are actively spreading on social media. The video shows more than half a dozen people fishing in the water on the Ganga Expressway service road.
Currently, several states, including Uttar Pradesh, have declared a high state of readiness due to continuous three-day rains. The 594-kilometer Ganga Expressway, valued at 36 thousand crore rupees, looks like a pond because of these downpours.
In the Sonic area, located in the Dahi district, Unnao, near Vasiratganj, where the toll section from Meerut to Prayagraj runs, the entire area became flooded due to rainwater. The toll section took the appearance of a pond.
Local rural residents took advantage of this situation to find a way to earn money and were seen fishing in the water. Videos of this incident are also widely circulating on social media.
Although the authenticity of this viral video has not yet been confirmed, users on social media are reacting to it in different ways. Vehicles passing through the flooded sections of the toll plaza had to face serious difficulties.
The Ganga Expressway operating organization is constantly trying to pump out the water from the toll section for many hours, but these efforts seem to be unsuccessful. A similar flooding situation previously occurred on the Ganga Expressway's exit toll section, and the operating organization has not learned from that lesson.
