The change of seasons leads to a decrease in air humidity, which negatively affects the condition of the skin. Dryness, tightness, and peeling of the face, hand, and leg skin become common problems. Most cosmetic products and lotions available in stores contain chemical substances and parabens, which may provide temporary relief but are harmful to the skin in the long term. Therefore, there is no need to spend money on expensive cosmetic products.
Using just three natural ingredients, you can prepare a homemade natural shea butter cream. This homemade cream deeply penetrates the layers of the skin, retaining moisture and making the skin incredibly soft and radiant.
The following components are needed for preparation: half a cup of unrefined shea butter, two tablespoons of pure coconut or almond oil, one teaspoon of aloe vera gel, and 4-5 drops of your chosen essential oil (such as lavender or rose, optional).
First, you need to melt the shea butter together with the coconut or almond oil in a bowl. This should be done over low heat using a double boiler method (placing the bowl over a container with hot water) for 2-3 minutes until the mixture slightly melts.
After complete melting, remove the oil from the heat and place the bowl in the freezer for 15-20 minutes so that it partially solidifies.
Then, take the bowl out of the freezer and add one teaspoon of aloe vera gel (as well as the essential oil). The mixture must be whipped using a hand mixer or electric whisk (or fork) for 4-5 minutes. Gradually, the texture will become completely white and airy, resembling whipped cream or an expensive factory cream.
The finished cream, which is 100% pure, creamy, and fragrant, should be transferred to a clean, dry glass jar. It is recommended to apply it immediately after showering or before bed on the face, hands, elbows, and legs. This will help eliminate dryness and keep the skin velvety throughout the day.
