Despite the defeat, the modest Wiese stated that it did not overshadow his personal achievement. He expressed pride in his teammates and their fight, noting that the last fifteen minutes showed the special character of the group. Wiese also said that the opportunity to represent his country 50 times is an incredible honor.

The Springboks are now returning home for a well-deserved rest after 17 weeks of participating in the Test series matches. Their next task is participation in the November Nations Cup in Europe. However, Wiese believes that the lessons learned in Perth could prove valuable in preparation for the World Cup.

The 30-year-old athlete admitted that the loss was painful, but he is confident that the fight will become bigger. He is convinced that all players want to give their maximum for South Africa, and therefore they will return stronger. Furthermore, the team was able to study the conditions under which the World Cup will take place, including the logistics of traveling to Perth, which is valuable experience for next year.
