Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have jointly launched ten investment projects with a total value of 389 million US dollars.
These figures were announced by Jasurbek Choriev, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission. He stated that the projects were presented during the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan, which took place on August 23–24.
At the time of the interview, Choriev held the position of Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan. The implemented projects demonstrate the expansion of economic cooperation between the two states, covering energy infrastructure and other areas of bilateral interaction.
One of the projects involves the construction of a network of gas stations, which will be carried out by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). In the first stage, the construction of five such stations is planned in the regions of Namangan, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Syrdarya, and Tashkent.
Additionally, the construction of the 'Azerbaijan Park' project has begun, which will occupy four hectares in the New Tashkent area.
