Red alert declared in UAE due to fog; temperature rise to 39°C expected in Abu Dhabi

In the United Arab Emirates, predominantly clear weather with variable cloudiness is forecast for Saturday, September 26. However, rising humidity may lead to the formation of fog or haze in some areas during the night and morning on Sunday.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), general conditions will remain comfortable, although visibility may decrease in coastal and inland areas due to the formation of fog or haze.

Previously, on Friday, NCM issued a red-level warning for fog, advising residents to exercise caution when going outdoors. Residents traveling early on the weekend are advised to remain vigilant in areas affected by fog or haze and to follow all safety instructions related to visibility issued by the authorities.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, blowing from southeast to northeast at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, occasionally reaching 30 km/h.

The maximum temperature recorded in the country on Friday was 45.8°C in Al Ghweifat (Ad-Dhafra region) at 3:00 PM. On Saturday, the maximum temperature in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah will reach 42°C. The minimum temperature in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be 27°C, and in Sharjah, 26°C.

The sea in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman will remain calm, and no significant changes in marine conditions are expected.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported that Thursday in the United Arab Emirates will feature clear or partly cloudy weather.

NCM issued red and yellow alerts regarding fog, warning residents about reduced horizontal visibility, especially during morning commutes.

Light to moderate winds are expected at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, with potential gusts reaching 30 km/h. The meteorological department added that temperatures will begin to rise, reaching a maximum of up to 44ºC across the country.

In Abu Dhabi, the mercury is expected to reach 42ºC, and in Dubai, 41ºC. Nighttime and Friday morning temperatures in some coastal areas may drop to 31ºC in Abu Dhabi, 29ºC in Dubai, and 25ºC in several regions.

High humidity is anticipated in coastal zones, with a likelihood of fog or haze formation. Humidity levels in Abu Dhabi will range from 40 to 90 percent, while in Dubai, they will be between 20 and 90 percent. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman will be minor.

The National Center of Meteorology reported that in the United Arab Emirates, the weather on Sunday will be clear or partly cloudy, with clouds appearing in the eastern direction.

During the night and morning of Monday, high humidity is expected over some coastal and inland areas, with a probability of fog or haze formation. The humidity level in Abu Dhabi will range from 30 to 90 percent, and in Dubai—from 25 to 85 percent.

Air temperatures in the country may rise up to 45 degrees Celsius. In Abu Dhabi, the thermometer will reach 43 degrees Celsius, and in Dubai—42 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Abu Dhabi is forecast at 30 degrees Celsius, and in Dubai—31 degrees Celsius.

There will be a light or moderate wind, which will occasionally strengthen, reaching speeds of 10–25, and in some places—35 km/h. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will be minor.
