Iranian athlete Zahra Zarei won the silver medal in the women's 400-meter race at the Asian Games 2026, which were held in Tehran on Saturday.
This success marked Iran's first women's medal in athletics at the Asian Games. Zarei finished with a time of 52.38 seconds.
Salva Nasser from Bahrain won the gold medal, running the distance in 49.20 seconds and setting a Games record. Indian athlete Prachi received the bronze medal with a time of 53.21 seconds.
Overall, Iran participated in the Asian Games 2026 with eleven athletes.
